Relief operations in full swing in Balochistan flood-hit areas Print E-mail
QUETTA - The rescue and relief operations are in full swing in flood battered areas in Balochistan as work to provide relief material to the flood-affected people and to shift them to safer places is being carried out on war footing. Four Helicopter of Pak Army with relief stuff including edibles, medicines and teams of doctors have reached in Barkhan,Sibi and Kohlu while the 12 trucks of relief goods dispatched by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority has also got in the areas.

The spokesman of ISPR said on Friday that the team comprising 600 jawans of Pak Army arrived at affected district on the request of the district administration. The Army team adept in dealing with floods, earth quake and other natural calamities is making endeavors in shifting the stranded people to safer places with the help of helicopters and motor boats.

It may be mention here that the torrential rains and subsequent flood had completely devastated three village including Sagiali, Naharkot and Watakri besides affecting the hundreds of houses in Kohul, Sibi and Barkhan.
The water accumulated due to heavy rains in most of the lower areas and  areas were now receding gradually and the situation was returning back to normal.
The flood affected people were being provided food items, water and medicines in the camps set up by the Pak Army, PDMA and Red Cross to mitigate the sufferings of the flood affectees.
