Balochistan Assembly passes resolutions Print E-mail
QUETTA: Balochistan Assembly members Monday unanimously passed two resolutions seeking restoration of sacked employees of Mari Gas Company and provision of natural gas to all district headquarters of Balochistan. Provincial Minister for Jails Malik Sultan Tareen while moving his resolution said Mari Gas Company had terminated its 60 employees in district Harnai without any notice which had created a lot of sufferings to their downtrodden families.
He regretted that according to the agreement, jobs were to be provided to local people at Zarghoon Ghar and Khost projects but no local men were recruited there.
Another resolution was tabled by Mir Abdur Rehman Muhammad Hasni.
Speaking on his resolution, he contended that keeping in view the government’s promises made in connection with Aghaz-i-Huqooq-i-Balochistan package, all district headquarters of Balochistan should be provided natural gas facility.
Nasreen Khhetran supporting the resolution said districts including Barkhan, Musakhail and Loralai are located near Kohlu and Dera Bugti gas fields but they were deprived of the natural gas facility.
MPA Mir Zahoor Hussain Khosa claimed only one percent of natural gas of Balochistan is being provided to the province while remaining is being provided to other parts of the country.
Provincial Finance Minister Asim Kurd Gailo recalled natural gas was recovered in Balochistan in 1954 but the facility was provided to its provincial capital Quetta in 1985. He added he would take the issue up with Federal Minister for Gas and Petroleum.
Speaker Muhammad Aslm Bhotani put the resolutions to the house which adopted them unanimously.
Meanwhile, the Balochistan Assembly members demanded of the government to conduct inquiry into firing on BSO rally in Khuzdar in which two students were killed and five other sustained injuries. Minister Gailo said Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani had directed Home Secretary to conduct investigation into the matter.
